Every blade has a working life. Ultra MAX makes yours a longer one.
It starts with the steel. We began with a metallurgical analysis and came out with a new blade alloy unlike any other. It has beam strength that rivals thicker blades, so it holds a straight line through the cut. It also has the flex life of a thinner blade, so it stands up to lap after lap around the band wheels.
Then there are the teeth. Ultra MAX teeth are ground, not stamped. Stamping is a common shortcut, and lab testing shows it permanently stresses the steel. Milling the teeth afterward does not remove that stress, and the blade fails sooner because of it.
The result is more lumber between blade changes and more resharpenings than our standard Ultra blade. If your time at the mill is limited to evenings and weekends, that is time spent sawing instead of swapping blades.
This blade fits the TimberKing 1220. The 1220TW takes a different blade, listed as the 1220TW, 1620, 2020, 2220 & 2520 Ultra MAX. Not sure which mill you have? Call 800-942-4406. A person will pick up.
