Dave Owen drove from Oklahoma to our factory in Kansas City, MO, to pick up his electric-powered 1600.
I got a 1600 TimberKing sawmill with an electric motor. I built a shed for my mill before I picked the mill up in Kansas City. I poured a concrete slab and installed 3-phase wiring. I keep my 1600 indoors, out of the weather.
One thing about the TimberKing company, all the people up there make you feel like you’re somebody special. They’re very respectful people and I enjoy that part of it.
“Bring your logs over”
There are a lot of people around here who’ll bring me logs to saw. I have the saw and people come to me. I tell them, ‘Bring your logs over,’ and they do.

Matt, in sales, was great from day one. I drove into Kansas City and called when I got close to the factory. I went to the underground cave where they build the mills. That’s quite a deal. I enjoyed that, and enjoyed my trip to Kansas City. Then I went to visit friends nearby.
Tickled
I’m tickled to death with this TimberKing. I use it to saw boards for myself and I will do some custom cutting, too. I use some of the wood I saw and I sell some. I like to build rustic looking stuff. It’s not for everybody but I like it. Others do, too.
It’s really a fine mill, very precise. I like the depth setter. The thickness is very precise from one end of a board to the other. And I like the steel track, that works good.
I’ve cut blown-down trees, I’ve cut blackjack oak and bodark, or Osage orange. It’s thorny, it’s hard, and it dries like steel. When I saw it, I keep the blade speed down. I’m in no hurry.
Cut as thin as you want
A friend of mine has a TimberKing. I looked at it and took some videos of it running. There’s one thing about TimberKing mills — you can take a log and cut boards as thin as paper. It’s a good deal and I’m very proud of it.
I made a good choice buying a TimberKing. I got the 1600. For the money, it fits my needs for now. I’m an older guy, and this didn’t break my bank account. That’s how I ended up with one. I haven’t had problems.”
