We did the metallurgy first. A metallurgical analysis led us to an entirely new blade alloy. It is strong like a thicker blade and flexible like a thinner one, so it cuts straight and keeps running.

We grind the teeth. Stamping is the common shortcut, and lab testing shows it permanently stresses the steel. Even if the teeth are milled afterward, the stress remains. Ground teeth never pick up that stress in the first place.

For a 2200 or 2500 that works for a living, that means fewer blade changes in a shift and more resharpenings out of every blade.
